Oyster mushroom, also known as Pleurotus is a species from gilled mushrooms. Mushrooms are categorized as fungi and it is not to be technically called as plants. This is a great source of diet for people who do not eat Non-vegetarian food.

Mushrooms are known for their health and nutritional properties which contains high source of calcium, protein, iron, magnesium and others; it has been used for their medicinal properties too.

There is around 40 types of oyster mushroom available and all of them are edible. You can find various colors in mushroom, pink, yellow, king oyster; but mostly they are in light grey color.
